YSA campout!

On friday after work Amanda and I packed up our camping gear and met at Kimi Memmott's house with 6 other girls from the ward. The other girls that went with us were Stephanie Hintze, Sam Morris, Sarah Hadlock, Michelle Lowe, and Jackie Coons. We got a big tent that we all fit into and it was just like girls camp again! what a blast.

The activity was a 6 stake thing, and I would estimate there were about 60-70 people there. We had dinner in the bowry, (sloppy joes, mmmm!) and just played games and had a dance party. at about 10:30 we started the movie Forever Strong. If you have not seen this film, I highly recommend it!

It was FREEZING at the campout. We immediately put on hoodies when we got out of the car, and wore them until we left the next morning. Everyone was wrapped in blankets for most of the night. We were going to play card games in our tent, but it was way too cold. so we played truth or truth instead. (that is truth or dare, but we were to cold to get out and do dares). It was a lot of fun and reminded me of the good ol' days of girls camp :)

In the morning we had delicious fruit and muffins for breakfast. Then Coach Larry Gelwix came and spoke to us for the morningside. He's a really good speaker and I loved every minute of it. He told us three things that we need to do to stay strong in the gospel: 1. know which team you play for (self explanitory) 2. don't play with snakes, this means not to even go near temptations that you know you cannot withstand. 3. don't let yourself go thirsty, study the scriptures in depth and don't just read them as a history book. apply them in your lives. I am greatful for this talk and to have a renewed determination to live how i should.

this was a very fun campout and i'm so glad i could go. :)
